BCPS Exceptional Student Education

Broward County Public Schools serves over 40,000 students with disabilities and offers a free and appropriate public education in compliance with the federally mandated IDEA. 

Eligible students are provided supports and/or services as per their Individual Education Plan (IEP) that are based on each child’s unique needs, as related to their present levels of academic achievement and functional performance.

BCPS Before and After Child Care (BASCC)

The Before and After School Child Care (BASCC) Department’s mission is to provide students with:

• An inclusive childcare program that is safe and nurturing in a nurturing environment

• A culturally enriching program that promotes the physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of each student

• A program that meets the highest quality of childcare standards

Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (CARD)

To provide support and assistance with the goal of optimizing the potential of people with autism and related disabilities.

CARD stands for the Center for Autism and Related Disabilities. We are a collaborative program of the University of Miami and Nova Southeastern University currently serving Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties. Our mission is to optimize the potential of people living with autism and related disabilities.

Children's Services Council of Broward County (CSC)

The CSC's mission is to provide leadership, advocacy, and resources necessary to enhance the lives of the children of Broward County and empower them to become responsible, productive adults through collaborative planning and funding of a continuum of quality care.

Arc Broward

Arc Broward’s Mission is to transform the community by providing opportunities for people with disabilities and other life challenges to realize their full potential.

Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options (JAFCO)

JAFCO’s mission is to provide care, safety, and support to children and their families within the Jewish community and beyond who are impacted by abuse, neglect, trauma, or developmental disabilities…giving every child a place to belong.

Family Network on Disabilities

Family Network on Disabilities of Broward County, Inc. is an organization for parents and families of children with developmental disabilities or other special needs.  Our mission is to provide support to parents through education, information, and technical assistance. We believe that informed parents are a child’s best advocate. Our Goal is to help parents become the best advocate they can be for their child and family.

Broward Healthy Start Coalition

Our vision is to lead the Broward County maternal and child health system of care to improve birth and developmental outcomes. The staff of Broward Healthy Start Coalition is proud to facilitate this organization’s mission to support new mothers and babies and demonstrate a measurable positive impact upon maternal and child health services and outcomes in Broward County. We are dedicated to upholding our legislatively mandated role as Broward’s maternal and child health leader.

211 Broward is the live, 24-hour comprehensive helpline to provide all people with crisis health, and human services support and connect them to resources in our community.

Broward County Transportation Options (TOPS)

Broward County Transit’s mission is to provide safe and reliable transportation solutions that link people, connect communities, support employment and contribute to the overall economic growth of our region. Our Transportation OPtionS (TOPS!) program is a shared ride for persons with physical, cognitive, emotional, visual, or other disabilities.
